Traffic is changing and utilizing more and more digital solutions.
The goal for the Smart Traffic 2020 -program is to promote the fluency of travel and work-related traffic, through means of digital solutions. Smart digital traffic solutions are also used to reduce emissions of traffic and making traffic safer. Also new business concepts related to digitalization of traffic are developed.
A travel related solution is developed to serve the growing number of tourists who come to the project area without their own car, mainly from abroad. This helps the areas tourism to grow and tourists to enjoy the areas magnificent nature. Areas nature is fragile so unpolluting traffic is essential.
We want also develop the areas work related traffic and seek the means which make commuting easy and environmentally friendly and safer. This also helps to improve the competitiveness of the area.
The partners in the program are Micropolis Ltd and Naturpolis Ltd. Project period is 1.7.2018-31.12.2020 and total budget is 439 600 €. Project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund, Kuusamo Taivalkoski regional development fund, Ruka-Kuusamo Tourist Association, Town of Pudasjärvi, Iin Energia Oy, and Suomussalmi municipality.
