Micropolis Ii is a technology center in Ii, approximately a 25-minute drive from Oulu. The center was founded around the competence of companies in the microelectronics sector in the late 1990s. Since then, other types of entrepreneurial activities and different kinds of service-sector companies and business operators have become part of the business cluster.
The business concept of Micropolis Ii is to offer high-technology companies and industry service companies a competitive operating environment that boosts the companies' success.
Micropolis properties are owned by the Ii municipality, and the premises are managed and leased by the property company Ii Valley Ltd.
Micropolis also houses modern meeting and training facilities of different sizes, and provides conditions and arrangements that meet the requirements for a well-functioning training event. The luncheon restaurant in the main building also serves meeting attendees.
In addition to businesses, the centre houses Micropolis Spectrum, a test centre focusing on product testing and materials analysis. A central application area at Micropolis Spectrum is X-ray technology.
